NEWS ABOUT JONATHAN JACKSON FOUNDATION

Our visit to Korogocho and Kibera yesterday provided us with a chance to #ShowSomeLove to our neighbours. We are grateful to have had the chance to provide over 40,000 meals to 260 households. We and the beneficiaries appreciate every donation that goes towards #JengaJirani

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

We define economic empowerment as ensuring communities have access to sustainable and dignified livelihoods through gainful, legal and structured income generating activities.

What We Do

We initiate and scale up community projects and ensure tangible, positive impact and accountability on the ground for the community, our partners and stakeholders targeting specifically women and youth.
We track, monitor, evaluate and ensure delivery of program success in all community projects we are involved in. This is because we are active on the ground and operate within the communities to ensure that the pledged and donated resources go towards project completion and that there is sustainability going forward.
We have identified the following areas which form the basis of project work under the Jonathan Jackson Foundation:

JOBS AND TRAINING

We endeavor to ensure that communities have access to sustainable and digniied livelioods through gainful, legal and structured income generating activities. We partner with communuty groups and existing training programs to scale their projects and ensure maximum reach and positve impact.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

We equate community development to initiatives that promote and support social cohesion; and any project that revitalises or stabilises communities.

ARTS, CULTURE & MUSIC

We are focused on providing children and youth opportunities to showcase their talent, avenues to display artistry, reclaim their safe spaces and create a positive meeting place in the community as well as provide a platform for promoters and sponsors to scout and support talent.

REFORM AND REHABILITATION

Dignity and safety are the platforms to build a productive and functional society. We work with different community groups who are actively making a change for the better and battling social ills especially in areas of sexual and gender based violence, drug and substance abuse and criminal reform.

EVENTS AND FESTIVALS

Music and performing arts are a great way to not only entertain but educate. We organize events and festivals in the communities to provide a platform for the following;

  • To promote the community’s local talent
  • To provide information to the community bout the Foundatuon’s programs
  • To give sponsors and partners opportunities to access the communities and give presentations to them
  • To motivate and encourage the community to make positive changes through testiomnuals of those who have benefited from the Foundation’s programs

Get Involved

The African proverb which says “if you want to go fast go alone but if you want to go far go with others” applies to our work.
While we are a philanthropic venture seeded and backed by our Chairman Mr. Jonathan Jackson, we believe we can go further and have longer lasting impact and sustainability by having volunteers and donors in different capacities. We also know there are plenty of other great projects currently underway in the communities and are seeking support  to take them to the next level. We would love to work with you.
