JENGA BIZNA MTAANI

Equip community members with skills for business development and job creation.

Jenga Bizna Mtaani program is designed to stimulate the growth of social enterprises within these communities. We provide capital goods, business development training, and mentorship with the aim of creating sustainable jobs and employment opportunities. JJF stays with the group for up to 2 years after funding to monitor the group’s progress.

Skills Development Training and Mentorship

We partner with community groups and existing training programs to sustain the impact, enhance coordination and create meaningful synergies in the implementation of projects.

In partnership with K–Shoes, we co-designed a two-month Social Entrepreneurship (Mini-MBA) Training program to equip trainees with entrepreneurial, leadership and personal development skills. The training enables them to generate business ideas, incubate them and present pitches for potential seed funding.

With our partner Fresh Cuts Foundation, we offer a two-month professional training on hairdressing, barbering and beauty therapy skills to the marginalised population aged between 15 and 35 years. The programme saw the successful graduation of over 100 youths in 2020 and awarded seven barbering machines to aid in jumpstarting the careers of the graduates. In 2021, we aim to skill and equip 150 young individuals into the industry.

Seed Capital for Enterprise Development

The Foundation works with community groups to build enterprises by providing seed funding to outstanding projects that demonstrate innovative social entrepreneurship.

We only support projects that are entirely developed and managed by youth, women or differently-abled persons for the benefit of the community.

Working Towards Sustainable Development

Encouraging entrepreneurship and job creation to promote sustained economic growth, higher levels of productivity and technological innovation.

At the Jonathan Jackson Foundation, we are working towards eradicating poverty in all its forms and dimensions.

Reducing inequalities through sound policies that empower lower income earners and promote economic inclusion of all regardless of sex, race or ethnicity.

How can you
support us?

We exist to impact youth, women and people living with disabilities in the communities we work with in this manner, creating a ripple effect of the Jenga Jirani philosophy that we live by. With your support, we can continue realising this.
